Hi all! I do apologise for my lack of posts recently. I am in the process of buying my first home, so the little time I have spare has been spent crocheting, rather than writing! I haven’t posted in over a month. I am almost ready to move into my new home so December will be spent for the most part packing and unpacking! Please bear with me. I hope to get back to regular blogging in the new year. Until then you can keep up to date with my making on my Instagram page, kickarsecrochet
Of course it wouldn’t be proper not to share some pics of crochet lovelys, so here is what I have been up to the last month.
This is the Riffles and Runs Beanie by the Ivy Killers crochet, using yarn purchased from Tine and Floyd at Yarndale. It’s so squashy!
Then I finished this – my Spun Gold shawl by Kay Goldin. Getting the hang of the Quintuple Trebles took a while. I had to reverse them. A combo of me stitching left handedly and the twist of the yarn going in the wrong direction meant stitching it the normal way resulted in enormous holes at the top of the Stitch and messy yarn overs. Anyways, I love it!
And most recently I finished this adorable little dragon baby! You may remember a while ago now I made a pair of wedding cats for my friend Helen as a wedding gift. Well she loved them so much, that when she couldn’t find a gift for her pregnant sister, she remembered me and asked for my help. The mom and dad of the baby in question are hugely into RPGs Larping and fantasy. And they wanted rainbow things. She had envisioned some sort of rainbow dragon or unicorn but couldn’t find anything that fit the bill. So when she asked me I was happy to oblige! I already had this yarn in my stash with no plans so it was perfect really!
I followed a pattern by Anat Tzach, of Anatillia Crochet. The requester asked for little wings so I cobbled together these cute little wings without a pattern.
