Hello all! Sorry I have not posted for a while. I have been super busy with one thing or another. This last two weeks has been a whirlwind – what with visiting all of my family, proposing to my bridesmaids, viewing properties, and most excitingly, we could a beautiful new home and have had our offer accepted! So now we start the process of purchasing our first home! Yay!
Anyways, as you can imagine, this hasn’t left much time for crochet! But I did manage to finish this last week:
This is my Doris Shawl. The pattern is by Kat Goldin, you can find it here. The Yarn is Standard Sock by Truly Hooked in Colourway Alter Ego and Delirium.
I love the colour combo. At first I was worried it was going to be too subtle. But actually it works together really well.
I found the pattern quite fun but did get quite bored in some areas. The large expanses of turquoise are entirely single crochet so go really slowly, and I miscounted a couple times so had to fudge in a few extra or few less stitches here and there. But it turned out wonderfully in the end, wouldn’t you agree.
I love the texture created in the grey sections by the crossed over stitches. It makes it visually more appealing to the eye.
I am glad to say, the recipient (my maid of honour) absolutely loved it! She was so pleased to receive her handmade gift along with her other gifts. I got some cookies made for each bridesmaid. Aren’t they sweet!
I hope you have had an equally productive weekend!
