In my family, July is the month of birthdays! There are so many! So this year, I decided to make some cards that use crochet as a focal point for the two other yarnies in my family. My Aunt Jo (who taught me to crochet) and My Mum (who caught the bug for knitting around 6 years ago).
I thought this would be a fantastic way to use up scraps – I had just finished making the Nepal Beanie (you can read about it here) and still had a little yarn left. It was so beautiful but there wasn’t much of it, but enough that it seemed a waste. So I decided to turn it into 2 appliques that I could use for greeting cards. Aren’t they cute? Perfect quick projects for the yarnies in my life. For the star I used this pattern. For the heart I used this pattern.
